CRS TMT

The Shyam CRS Rebars are produced by adding corrosion resistant elements ( Cu, P & Cr) in appropriate proportions to the billet and adopting the Thermo Mechanical Treatment (TMT) process using special quenching & tempering technology.

A specific amount of Cu increases resistance of steel to corrosion by forming a tighter, more protective antirust film. Alloying element chromium possesses excellent resistance to rust-prone environments. Addition of Cr to steel also increases pitting resistance of the TMT Rebars. Phosphorus in the form of oxides (P2O5) prevents the ingress of moisture, oxygen etc.

Corrosion resistance properties of Shyam CRS TMT are tested through exposure to rigorous corrosion mediums. The various corrosion resistant properties are evaluated as per ASTM  standard. This evaluation indicates that Shyam CRS TMT Rebars possess a Corrosion Resistance Index ( CRI) of 1.5 against non-CRS TMT Rebars.
