The company is consistently striving to attain its set goals. It aims at reducing energy cost by installing a Captive Power Plant. Expanding its network in different states and reach a larger market to grow its client list. It also plans to increase its production by setting up manufacturing units in different, suitable locations.

The company has been mounting success levels, in the highly competitive global market and supply chain, with the unchanged vision of providing good quality and standardised products at competitive prices. It has, in return attained complete customer satisfaction. The company aims at establishing itself in the steel industry as the supplier of choice for its clients, and to achieve the pinnacle of success in the industry.

Policies

Policies are an integral part of a company. They are unique and important in forming the basic structure of an organisation. Since the authenticity and integrity of a firm can be judged by the set of policies it follows, Shyam Steel Industries Ltd. through the ages has build its own definite set of policies, which makes it stand out from the other steel manufacturing companies in the region. Environmental Policy

Understanding its responsibility towards the society, Shyam Steel Industries Ltd. has taken special measures to conserve environment. Aware of the harmful emissions from industrial waste it has taken steps to, lower the emission levels of its plants to negligible by using environment friendly sources of fuel. The company is ISO 14001 certified and its environment policy states

"We are committed to conduct our operations at the DRI Plant, SMS Shop, Billet Caster & Rolling Mill Plant in the most environmentally benign manner. We underline our commitment towards

  • Minimising the impact on various components of the environment, particularly on Air, Water, Land and Natural Resources through conscious and concerted efforts;
  • Compliance with the applicable environmental legislation & regulation;
  • Continual improvement of our environmental performance through the use of most appropriate economically viable technologies, voluntary involvement of our employees and participation of business associates."

Quality Policy

Quality control being a major area of concern for the company, it has enlisted a few quality policies that are strictly followed in its product manufacturing. The company states

  • Satisfy customer through compliance of their needs, by delivering premium quality sponge iron, Billets, CRS Billets, TMT Re-Bars, CRS TMT Re-Bars, and other structural steel products in a cost effective manner on time, every time;Continual Improvement in process, quality, sales and delivery. Entire members of the organisation are developed by effective implementation and up gradation of the Quality Management System."

Occupational Health and Safety Policy

Shyam Steel Industries Ltd. recognises its responsibilities towards the safety and health of its employees. It has a declared policy on occupational health and safety, It states:

"We at our world-class integrated steel plant manage operations with concern for the health and safety of individuals. Conducting business in a safe, secure and sound manner, we follow the occupational health and safety policy certified under ISO 18001. We are committed to

  • Operate facilities in a resource-efficient manner taking care of the safety of the community in which it operates, reduce all identified OH&S risks and hazards of employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Strive for continual improvement in the area of safety and health with the goal to zero out the cases of injuries, waste generation and emissions.
  • Train all employees to work safely, preventing injury to themselves and others, and avoid damage to property.
  • Ensure that procedures are in place to implement these principles and communicate about EHS issues.
  • OH&S responsibilities belong to all levels of management and all employees."

CSR Policy

Shyam Steel Industries Ltd. has been very keen on community services. They involved equally both in the community development business and also in the steel making business. Contributing towards social development, donating to the weaker section of the society and providing education to the under privileged have all become part of the company's regular activities. These are listed under the CSR policy of the company, which states that
